THE RULES

THE RULES
For Nominations:

Books and products are eligible for nomination.

  1. To be considered, books and products must have been published or had a significant version release in the current calendar year (November 2007 - November 2008).
  2.  Beta products are not eligible.
  3. Categories may be added/deleted based on submissions.
  4. Products may be reassigned to another category by the judges as appropriate.
  5. Nominations close November 12, 2008.
  6. Supporting material to help the judges view your products' features and capabilities may be submitted. Suggested materials include a 5-minute Flash video, PowerPoint or webinar, consisting of 5-10 examples of the product's most salient and standout functionality. Examples may be illustrated using static screenshots, real-time animation or an application demo. While this supporting information is not required, we do recommend it as it helps us see what your product does and aids in the finalist selection. (Flash videos are highly recommended.) If you do submit a presentation, please make it available on your website, and email the URL to 19thJoltAwards@cmp.com before November 12, 2008.
  7. You may nominate each product in a maximum of three categories.

For Finalists:

Finalists will be announced in mid-December.

Product finalists are required to send a copy of their product—with a full, unrestricted license with no expiration date—to each judge in their category. If your product takes more than 30 minutes to install, you must submit, along with the product, a pre-built Virtual PC image configured with all the required components and dependencies required for your product to be evaluated. Products sent to judges with limited licenses may be eliminated from consideration at the judges’ discretion.
